The former 121 service from Weston-super-Mare to Bristol, operated commercially by First, has been combined with the council-supported service A2 Link, launched as part of the DfT’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund.
The new A2 bus service provides an hourly link to Bristol Airport between Weston-super-Mare and Nailsea. Changes to this service have been brought forward to protect the long term viability of the core of both routes.
The A2 service departs Weston-super-Mare for Nailsea every hour, serving West Wick, Banwell, Winscombe, Sandford, Churchill, Lower Langford, Wrington, Bristol Airport, Backwell and Nailsea.
The service also connects to the rail network at Weston-super-Mare, Worle and Nailsea & Backwell railway stations.
Buses on the A2 route run from approximately 5am to 11pm, making it an ideal travel option for people commuting to or seeking employment at Bristol Airport.
On Sundays and Public Holidays, four return journeys operate on the route from 8am to 8.35pm.
For onward travel towards Bristol, transfer to Bristol bound services at these interchanges:
Backwell Crossroads to connect with the X1 (every 20 mins), W1 and X8 (every 30 mins)
Bristol Airport to connect with Airport Flyer (every 10 mins)
Standard First West of England fares apply on service A2 and connecting First services. Fares information can be found on the First website.
Diamond Travelcard holders can travel on service A2 for free after 9am.
A separate ticket is required for the Airport Flyer. However, if you live in post code areas BS25, BS29, BS40, BS48 or BS49, you are eligible for 50% off Airport Flyer tickets with Bristol Airport’s Local Community Concession Scheme. Diamond Travelcard holders can travel on the Airport Flyer for free after 9am.
