Rider tickets

Rider tickets are ticket options that can be used on a large number of buses provided by different operators for virtually unlimited travel across the area. Prices are set by bus operators and tickets are valid only on the date of issue – printed on the ticket – from the time you buy it until 0259 the following day. There is no limit to the number of journeys you can make using the ticket but you must show it to the bus driver each time you use it.

AvonRider

About AvonRider

 

AvonRider is a multi-operator ticket that gives you virtually unlimited travel on buses in Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. It covers the area of the former County of Avon.

 

Tickets

 

You can buy an AvonRider ticket on any bus in the area, including park and ride services, operated by the following companies:

  • Abus
  • Bakers Dolphin
  • Bath and North East Somerset Passenger Transport
  • Bath Bus Company (except tour buses)
  • Bugler Coaches
  • Carmel Bristol
  • Citistar
  • Crosville
  • CT Coaches
  • CT Plus
  • Faresaver
  • First West of England
  • Severnside Transport
  • Somerbus
  • Webberbus
  • Wessex

 

These are paper tickets and are valid only on the date of issue (printed on the ticket) and until 0259 the following day.

AvonRider tickets may be used on all bus services operated by the companies listed above within the AvonRider area except Bugler 22, Greyhound 100, Airport Flyer A1, Night bus N47, tour buses, express coaches and services for special events. On Bath Bus Co service A4, AvonRider is not valid between Bedminster Down and Bristol Airport.

AvonRider tickets may also be used on The Buses of Somerset services 21 and 102 within the AvonRider area but they are not issued on the buses.

 

Fares

 

AvonRider prices are set by the bus operators and are:

 

Adult: £7.20

Student (with NUS Card) and Child (under 16): £6.20

 

There is no limit to the number of journeys you can make in the zone with an AvonRider ticket during the day but you must show it to the bus driver each time you use it.

 

BristolRider

About Bristol Rider

 

BristolRider is a multi-operator ticket that gives you virtually unlimited travel on buses in the Bristol urban area. The BristolRider Zone covers the area within roughly a six mile radius of College Green in Bristol. This is the same area as First’s Bristol Inner Zone. The exact boundary stops on radial bus routes are as follows:

 

  • Avonmouth (St Andrew’s Road/Third Way)
  • Hallen (Windsor Crescent)
  • Cribbs Causeway (Retail Park)
  • Aztec West roundabout
  • Winterbourne Road (Old Gloucester Road)
  • Whiteshill (Quarry Barton)
  • Wick Wick roundabout
  • Westerleigh Road (Folly Brook Road)
  • Pomphrey Hill (Johnson Road)
  • Warmley (Church Avenue)
  • Bitton (Cherry Gardens roundabout)
  • Bath Road (Pixash Lane)
  • Keynsham (Courtenay Road)
  • Keynsham (Charlton Road/Longmeadow Road)
  • Pensford Hill Top (Belluton Terrace)
  • Dundry Chapel
  • Felton (George & Dragon)
  • A38 (Hobbs Lane)
  • Flax Bourton (George)

The BristolRider ticket may be used on all bus services operated by the companies listed above within the BristolRider area except Greyhound 100, Airport Flyer A1, Night bus N47, tour buses, express coaches and services for special events. On Carmel Bristol service X5, BristolRider is not valid between Avonmouth and St Katherine’s School. On Bath Bus Co service A4, BristolRider is not valid west of Bedminster Down (Kings Head).

There is no limit to the number of journeys you can make in the zone with a BristolRider ticket during the day but you must show it to the bus driver each time you use it.

 

WestonRider

About WestonRider

 

WestonRider is a multi-operator ticket that gives you virtually unlimited travel on buses in the Weston-super-Mare urban area. It covers that part of North Somerset south of the River Yeo and west of the M5 Motorway plus the bus stops on the A370 to the east of the M5 at Puxton Park.

You can buy a WestonRider ticket on any bus operated by the following companies:

  • Bakers Dolphin
  • Citistar
  • Crosville
  • First West of England
  • Webberbus

 

These are paper tickets and are valid only on the date of issue (printed on the ticket) and until 0259 the following day.

WestonRider tickets may be used on all bus services operated by the companies listed above within the WestonRider area except tour buses, express coaches and services for special events. WestonRider tickets may also be used on The Buses of Somerset services 21 and 102 within the WestonRider area but they are not issued on the bus.

BathRider

About BathRider

 

BathRider is a multi-operator ticket that gives you virtually unlimited travel on buses in Bath. It covers the area from Lansdown in the north to Odd Down in the south and from Bath Spa University in the west to Bathford in the east. This is the same area as First’s Bath Zones 1, 2 and 3.

You can buy a BathRider day ticket on any bus, including park and ride services operated by the following companies:

  • Bath Bus Company (except tour buses)
  • Bugler Coaches
  • CT Coaches
  • Faresaver
  • First West of England
  • Somerbus
  • Wessex

 

Tickets sold on buses are paper tickets and are valid only on the date of issue (printed on the ticket) and until 0259 the following day.

The BathRider Day paper ticket may be used on all bus services within the BathRider area except Bugler 22, Coachstyle 37, 86, 94, 444, U70, X76, X80, X88, tour buses, express coaches and services for special events.

 

You can also buy BathRider Day tickets at three outlets:

  • Bath bus station
  • Bath Tourist Information Centre (Abbey Churchyard)
  • Bath Tourist Centre, Platform 1, Bath Spa railway station

 

Tickets sold at these outlets are scratchcards and the appropriate date of travel must be scratched off. They are valid on that day and until 0259 the following day.

The BathRider Day scratchcard may be used on all bus services within the BathRider area except Bugler 22, 444, U70, tour buses, express coaches and services for special events.

 

Week tickets

 

BathRider week tickets are only sold at three outlets:

  • Bath bus station
  • Bath Tourist Information Centre (Abbey Churchyard)
  • Bath Tourist Centre, Platform 1, Bath Spa railway station

 

BathRider Week tickets are scratchcards and the first date of travel must be scratched off. Then they are valid for that day, the following six days and until 0259 on the eighth day.

The BathRider Week scratchcard may be used on all bus services within the BathRider area except Bugler 22, 444, U70, tour buses, express coaches and services for special events.

 

Fares

 

BathRider prices are set by the bus operators and are:

 

Day Adult: £4.50

Day Student (with NUS Card) and Child (under 16): £4.00

 

Week Adult or Student: £17.50

Week Child (under 16): £16.50

 

Please note, for students (with NUS cards) day tickets are sold at child prices but week tickets are sold at adult prices

 

There is no limit to the number of journeys you can make in the zone with a BathRider ticket during its period of validity but you must show it to the bus driver each time you use it.
